Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toys

Another revamp of the series which first came out in the 80s. Guess if you've got the formula right, then don't mess with it. In case you are one of those who haven't yet heard of these mutant turtles, I thought I'd run through the main characters with you (and the origins) so that you will sound pretty credible when you are attempting to engage a conversation with young TMNT fans.

First the story : The turtles were your run of the mill turtle someone bought from a shop when they were exposed to some green gel like stuff that got spilt on them - a rat got a dose of it too. The kind hearted rat took it upon himself to 'adopt' these 4 baby turtles and took them down to the 'sewers' (underground) where he lived. When he woke up, they had grown dramatically and so had he. Eventually they grew up to become the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the rat became their sensei (master) Splinter. Apparently the stuff that got spilt on them was some radioactive stuff (why is is always green? Reminds me of the Hulk) which is why they 'mutated'. According to my son, Donatello is the turtle that is good with his hands, Michelangelo is the one who is always hungry (by the way, they eat pizza), Raphael is the rash and impatient one and Leonardo is the brainy one and comes up with the ideas.
